Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Intellivison Baseball League season had to be reduced to a short tournament. The first round featured a battle between the Smash and Upmonsters, with the Upmonsters winning 2-1 in 14 innings. That game was followed by a great defensive game where the Bombers beat the Armada 1-0 in 11 innings.

Round two featured the Upmonsters against the Beamriders, and the Bombers against the Deadly Dogs. The Beamriders crushed two home runs to beat the Upmonsters 8-1. That was the most runs scored in a game since 2017. The Deadly Dogs beat the Bombers 2-1.

Round three was the Beamriders facing the defending Action Network Champion Ghosts, while the Deadly Dogs battled the defending Battle Network Champion River Raiders. The Beamriders shut out the Ghosts 2-0 and were once again Action Network champions, their first network title since 2017 and their 5th network championship. The Deadly Dogs scored a run in the top of the 9th to beat the River Raiders 1-0 to win their 2nd Battle Network title.

The Beamriders faced the Deadly Dogs in the championship series for the second time. The Beamriders set a record for most runs in a postseason game with a 6-1 victory in game 2 and swept the Deadly Dogs. This is their third IBL Championship in 7 seasons.
